Of all the intellectually dishonest (moronic) nonsense being spread around, here is an issue that has been known by railroaders since the turn of the 20th century. Of course, not one inch of true high speed rail will ever operate in the United States. Amtrak is in peril, but the true national disgrace is that this kind of deception pervades every aspect of public discussion on every issue of national importance. We certainly get the government we deserve.
