INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Several Vero Beach residents, most of them identifying themselves as seniors, are objecting to County Commission ChairmanBob Solari‘s call to derail support for an estimated $268 million project restoring passenger rail service to Florida’s east coast.

“If anyone asked to increase my taxes, I would agree to increase my taxes for this (rail service),” Riverview Court resident Rosalie Hakker said Monday.

  1. Honestly it won’t create any impacting jobs, however it will give people options to move from the larger citys to smaller ones(like Vero) and still maintain their big city jobs. God forbid they let any large buissnesses come to this town to create any local jobs. They have no problem bringing servent jobs to this town but anything with any economical impact is viewd as a cancer. Add a few trips from the northern states for the snowbirds and ide say its a pretty sound idea.
