Slaughter reaffirms desire for faster rail service – Times Union

U.S. Rep. Louise Slaughter said she will continue to seek 110 mph passenger rail service across upstate New York following Monday’s statement by the Empire State Passengers Association endorsing top speeds of 90 mph in the near term, backing the position of CSX Transportation, the tracks’ owner.

“I am continuing to push forward in my effort to bring a dedicated third track for high-speed passenger rail to Upstate New York that will bring passengers from Buffalo to Albany to New York City at a top speed of 110 mph,” said Slaughter.
