I think this is probably a good thing. It would potentially remove one main obstacle for renewed service in the Florida panhandle on the Sunset route.

WASHINGTON—The Obama administration has agreed to scale back requirements for new anticollision technology on freight trains, in an attempt to resolve a legal dispute over the multibillion-dollar safety initiative.
The move could potentially save the freight-railroad industry hundreds of millions of dollars as it works to meet a congressional mandate for installing collision-avoidance hardware, known as “positive train control.”
