I cannot imagine being forced to live in a community with wide sidewalks, lanes for bus turns, open spaces and bike lanes. That’s SOCIALISM!

It is a shame that improving the quality of life for Americans isn’t a goal for all.
Did you say something about improving the quality of life for “all.” That’s communism, pure and simple.
I am 2 years older than the retiring baby boomers and I dislike getting on the 8 lane divided highway that takes me to the regional mall and the mega market across the street from that mall. I prefer to use the older 5 lane county road with the ma & pa hardware store and the 1960 sixe grocery store. It is convenient and has less traffic.
You’re being disingenuous by implying that republocrats oppose wide sidewalks … The question is … Why is the federal gov’t paying for it? This is a local problem that should be dealt with by local gov’ts as they see fit.
This is wasted money for “planning”. Well heck, I can plan the “prefect city” … IMHO … right here on my laptop but heck, give me a couple of million dollars in a grant and I’ll even print it out for you.
