According to industry experts, it was a pioneering system when first introduced, and it made the Omaha-based transportation giant one of the first companies in the world to make extensive use of online transaction processing technologies.

China”s planners seem to throw around dollar figures in the trillions almost casually when it comes to infrastructure investment. True, it”s in Renminbi (RMB), which goes for 6.83 to one U.S. dollar. The total is still lavish. Chinese companies benefiting from the windfall face tough competition from sexier stocks in the current bull market, but generous government investment makes infrastructure stocks worth a look.
