I do not claim to be an expert on this project, which has been more than 20 years in the planning. Furthermore, I am fairly certain that the proposed tunnel has some major flaws, BUT rail capacity into New York City is at a stage that demands immediate attention. This one won’t go away.

This action is typical of the unimaginative leadership we have seen in this country over the last 40 years.

And it’s the kind of thing that will bring down this country. Even worse was the fact that NJT was so hellbent on dead-ending the tunnels when a connection should have been made.
