Yesterday, TFA was unable to post images of the proposed Anaheim transportatin hub, but now we have video of the updated version of the Anaheim ARTIC Station in Anaheim, CA. FURTHERMORE: It’s not really an “update,” for a follow up.

mmmm? what part of that is updated? It still looks the same to me.
Well, the video isn’t new. According to YouTube, it was uploaded last year. But it does look nice.
I’m not a huge fan of monorails, but it is sort of appropriate for Anaheim, I suppose. And they really need to electrify the Metrolink trains….
The monorail is great if the only thing you want to do is get tourists to Disneyland. I was disappointed that it was not being planned as part of a larger rail network in Orange County. For less money than monorail or maglev we could serve Santa Ana, Orange, Costa Mesa and Irvine with light rail. We could resurrect the long dormant Centerline project. Someday it could perhaps connect with whatever Metro is doing on the P.E. Santa Ana branch.
Once they build this thing, that’s it. It won’t be expanded to service more of Orange County, because they blew their wad on expensive monorails for a high profile, sexy project.
